My name is Elian Perrot. I was born and raised in Toulouse, in the south of France. At the age of 21, after completing my studies in the food industry, I decided to embark on a journey to New Zealand to step back and reflect on my future.
I started filming bits of my travels and discovered a passion for filmmaking, one that profoundly changed the course of my life.
The meaning of life is to find your gift.
The purpose of life is to give it away.
Drawn to explore new ways of seeing the world through storytelling, and inspired by a search for humanity’s deepest questions, I embarked on a five-year journey of discovery. This is how What’s up on Earth was born.
I then spent another five years editing, to self-produce the docuseries What’s up on Earth, bringing together the stories, teachings, and reflections gathered throughout this adventure.
A decade of passionate work has culminated in a sweeping odyssey of 6 seasons, 43 chapters, and over 17 hours of storytelling, through which I strive to authentically convey my own experiences and deepest feelings.
I truly hope it resonates with you as much as it resonates with me, and that it plants a few seeds along the way.
